Bronwyn Rucker, Actor

In addition to writing and performing her original material, Bronwyn acted in a wide variety of productions in New York and regional theatre. These include roles in The Elephant Calf at Marymount Manhattan College directed by Michael Mayer;  National Theatre Company productions of Come Blow Your Horn and Miracle Worker;  Equity Library Theatre production of Pajama Game;  Theatreworks USA  production of Stars and Stripes Forever;  New Jersey Theatre Forum production of Private Lives;  George Street Playhouse production of Brothers directed by Eric Krebs;  Royal Court Repertory Theatre production of Survival N.Y.C.;  Soho Artist Theatre productions of Brothers and Heavenz directed by Dino Narrizano;  Coney Island USA production of Kid Twist directed by Dick Zigun;  Gallery Players production of Antigone;  New Jersey Shakespeare Festival productions of Luther, The Trojan Women, Saved, and Measure for Measure;  Pittsburgh Playhouse productions of Ithaka, The Birthday Party, Streetcar Named Desire, The Sandbox, and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie; Butterflies Are Free with Camelot Productions;  Producer’s Theatre production of World War Bee directed by Jason Ellis;  Ensemble Studio Theatre production of Starry Nights directed by Nell Evans;  New Arts Theatre Co.'s production of Change Favors;  Theatre Five productions of Two Gentlemen of Verona and The Tempest;  Palaver Theater Company production of Purple Star in a Green Box directed by Herb Donaldson;  3A Theatre Productions presentation of Poem. The Poetry of George R Carr; the musical-theatre piece Tough Relationships with John Philip;  Village Playwrights' "Love Is Queer" Play Festival; and two seasons of children’s theatre with the Odd Chair Playhouse, among other productions.  Bronwyn also had roles in several films including Senior Trip, a CBS Movie of the Week; the American Theatre Wing documentary Working in the Theatre, Women in Limbo and The Life of Isabel Bishop on WNET Public Television; five characters in the Job Market on WNYC Public Television; Jazzy for Joe by Owen Kline and Andrew Lampert.  Bronwyn appeared as a day player and did under-fives in numerous dramatic serials including As The World Turns, All My Children, The Doctors, One Life To Live, Search for Tomorrow, and Somerset, and she also took part in several avant-garde dance-theatre works.  Bronwyn studied acting with Uta Hagen, Martha Schlamme, Steven Strimpell, and Hal Holden;  soaps and commercials with Weist Barron;  dance with Luigi, Finis Jhung, and Ron Forello;  and musical theatre and voice with Nell Evans, Don Brassington, and Marc Zeller.  Bronwyn received a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the Pittsburgh Playhouse at Point Park University.
